Motorsports GT World Cup
Following the dramatic races of the TGR Motorsports GT World Cup Philippines national rounds, Toyota Motor Philippines is now encouraging everyone to support Team Toyota Philippines in the 2022 Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Asia Regional Finals.
Filipino e-racing champions Estefano Rivera, Russel Reyes, and Topher Tejada are teaming up and putting their heads together to compete against the best e-racers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand of the Motorsports GT World Cup. The Team Toyota Philippines squad has a lot of potential, with each representative coming from a diverse yet competitive racing background.

Before attempting e-racing, Estefano had achieved success on physical race courses as a professional racer. In 2021, he was the Super Sporting Class Champion of Toyota Motor Philippines’ top one-make racing series, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Vios Motorsports GT World Cup. He has has a number of other motorsport accomplishments, including winning the 2018 National Gymkhana and being awarded Slalom King in the 2019 National Slalom Championship.

Meanwhile, Russel Reyes has won multiple championship titles both locally and internationally since beginning his e-motorsports career in 2019. In addition to the TGR Motorsports GT World Cup, Russel has competed in other e-motorsports events such as the GSR E-Motorsports Series and the Asian Endurance Series 2021, where he demonstrated his ability in both circuit and endurance races.

Topher Tejada, on the other hand, does not allow his fears get the best of him despite being new to the e-motorsports scene with the TGR Motorsports GT World Cup 2022 as his debut e-racing competition. In the local rounds, he demonstrated that newcomers can also win by instantly entering the winners’ podium in third place in the last round of the local rounds before ascending the leaderboard and winning first in the Promotional Class at the National Round.

The three will compete in the GR Motorsports GT World Cup Asia Regionals, which will consist of two rounds: semifinals and finals. The semifinals will feature 20 players divided into three groups racing at the virtual Fuji International Speedway in the GR Yaris. Following that, the best five riders from each group will advance to the three-round final race, which will begin with the GR Supra 20 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. They will next race the GR Supra GT4 on Germany’s renowned Nürburgring GP before taking on the tough Circuit De La Sarthe in France with the GR010 Hybrid hypercar for the final round.
The in-game racing vehicle for Team Toyota Philippines will be adorned in a distinctive livery inspired by the Philippine flag. The livery, designed by Filipino graphic designer Nez Yumul, contains banderitas in the hues red, yellow, blue, and white, evocative of Philippine celebrations of Motorsports GT World Cup. With the help of its official connection provider, PLDT Enterprise, the squad is primed to conquer the e-tracks.
Fans and supporters can watch Russel Reyes, Estefano Rivera, and Topher Tejada race alongside the toughest e-racers in Asia livestreaming across participating Asia Pacific countries on October 29, 6:00 PM Philippine time, via the Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook pages.
